YMCA Play Learn and Grow

The literacy based playgroup includes a feature book themed activity, 
sensory and manipulative play, gross motor activities, circle time with stories 
and songs, and a spot for babies to play and explore! Each week Project ABC 
brings new and exciting themes to the playgroups, and are now focusing on 
STEM and STEAM activities.

Trying to meet people in town?  Tired of being stuck in your own house?  Come to the library to connect with other young families.  Grown-ups can chat and connect with other parents and caregivers while supervising their children's play.  Toys and coffee provided by the library!
 


Dr. Seuss Word Challenge

Tuesday, July 2nd 4:00-5:00pm
In collaboration with Aesop's Fable we will host a reading of Dr. Seuss books and do a couple of crafts as part of the Dr Seuss word challenge.  Children will be given materials and info about how to continue the challenge at home.

This is your chance to sleep at the library!  We will provide dinner, activities and a light breakfast (yes there will be coffee for the adults!)  You provide the sleeping bag and the energy!!  Further details available at the Children's Desk.

Movie at the Library
Saturday, July 27th 6:30-8:00pm
Disney's 1993 version of "Aladdin"  (G) 90 minutes
In conjunction with the adult program "The Ultimate Robin Williams Experience" on the main floor, we will show the 1993 animated version of Aladdin starring Robin as the genie in the meeting room on the lower level for the kids at the same time.
Babysitting and refreshments will be provided.


Doodlebot Fun
Ages 5 & Up
Thursday, August 1st 4:30-5:30pm
Create and explore energy from simple circuits and Doodlebots.  Assorted items are provided so each child can create their own automated doodling machine to take home.  Explore the concept of prototypes and ways to generate possible solutions to any design challenges.

Barn Babies

Barn Babies traveling baby animal petting zoo provides perfect hands-on activity for your little learner. Baby animals such as a little potbellied pig, lots of baby bunnies, chicks or ducks, puppies and kittens.  Explore your five senses and meet some cuddly friends.

Ice Cream Social

Bring your reading log and enjoy ice cream and prizes provided by the Friends of the library. 
Everyone gets a small takeaway prize for participating.
Drawings for bigger prizes based on age.
Raffle tickets will be given out at the social for books read.
Ages 3-5: one ticket per 15 books
Ages 6-8 one ticket per 10 books
Ages 9-12 one ticket per 5 books
